[MPlayer-users] Little configure problem - 0.90pre1

Hi!
I'm new to this list and this is my first mail. First of all I think the
developers are doing a great job! Now the nitpicking :-)

Version: MPlayer-0.90pre1 (released just now, so I did'nt try the CVS)
System:
LFS with linux 2.4.17 on i686 (Athlon)
libc 2.2.4, XFree86 4.2.0, gcc 2.95.3, ld 2.11.2, binutils 2.11.2
gtk 1.2.10 and 2.0.2 (used 1.2), glib 1.2.10 and 2.0.1, libpng 1.2.1

1.
'configure' won't find binutils. 'configure.log' just says binutils: no
I have binutils installed and ar is in the path.

2.
When building with --enable-gui I get a VERY long error list and
eventally make fails at some point (I can get into this later).

3.
'make' without the GUI works (still I get several errors on make), but
'make install' says: nothing to be done for install.

MPlayer works but I won't get any sound. I've installed ALSA 0.5.12a
(which works fine) and disabled any OSS support in MPlayer.

No 1 should be quite easy to fix, as for 2 and 3 , it's late and I can
provide further information if you tell me what you need.
