[MPlayer-users] dvd encoding subtitles

Hi, 
I am trying to encode using mencoder:
I am able to encode using the divx4 codec using the commands: 

mencoder -dvd 1  -alang en -slang gr,el,greek  -oac copy -divx4opts br=1700   
-o bw.avi  -pass 1
mencoder -dvd 1  -alang en -slang gr,el,greek -oac copy -divx4opts br=1700   
-o bw.avi -pass 2

but when I switch  to the  faster lavc using the commands
 
mencoder -dvd 1 -alang en -slang gr,el,greek  -ovc lavc -lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1700:vme=5:vqmin=2 -oac copy -o e2.avi -pass 1
mencoder -dvd 1 -alang en -slang  gr,el,greek  -ovc lavc -lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1700:vme=5:vqmin=2 -oac copy -o e2.avi -pass 2


then the subtitles are not in the output file. 

I updated to the latest cvs and now the subtitles
do not appear even when I encode with divx4. 

What I am doing wrong?
