[Mplayer-users] Can't run

I compiled the latest .50pre1 with "configure --prefix=/encap/MPlayer-0.50pre1 --enable-new-gui".  It compiled fine but when I run it I get an error "Option -alsa has been removed, new audio code doesn't need it!"

How do I fix this?  Also, how do I compile it with ESD?  It doesn't detect it when I run the configure.
