It is joke.

Great. 2 less subscribes! :)
We will not only beat the upper limits of SF and FM statistics, we
will also beat the lower limits too! :)

Anybody against closing this list???

Btw. I always replied to users, not only said RTFM. If it's not enough,
then really should move away. And we're polite with users who send usable
bugreports and at least read some parts of the docs. (reading != grep)

I understand you, but you should understand me too. After reading and
replying the 10000+ mail asking the same questions again and again,
and knowing that these questions are usually in top 10 of faq section,
i'm very upset, and will be everything but polite.

Answering every questions in details (as some avifile authors do) not
acceptable for such popular project. I got 200+ mails per day about this,
it's too lot to answer everything in long polite sentences!
I spent about 2-3 hours per day just replying these mails by few line
answers. Just multiply it by 10, and imagine when will I be able to
develop code then... (not speaking about sleeping and my job)

You should accept this, or stop using mplayer, or - the best choice - 
reading that f. manual!

great. 15 mins spent again with useless replying to this mail.
it means 15 mins less to development.
