Hello -

	After some more research I have discovered the cause of the 
	problem I reported earlier.

	The problem was caused by an incompatible libdvdcss.   

	NOTE: there are two libdvdcss versions and the API is not compatible.

	If you install 'libdvdcss 0.0.3' then MPlayer will work.

	If you install VideoLanClient ('vlc') then you get a different 
	version of libdvdcss and 'vlc' will work but MPlayer will stop
	working.

	Sigh - I guess I will stay with MPlayer, it's more stable but vlc
	does have its good points too.
