[MPlayer-users] too fast movies

hi out there,
new to mplayer, which in fact i really like, i have a little question:
like the half of my movies, be it avi or mpg, are played in at least double 
speed. the others run great, but these special ones... seems strange to me 
because it alway are the same options in config but mplayer behaves 
different. Run in windows 98 those movies behave normal. 
anybody else had or have this problem?
