mplayer does not need any files from the avifile sourcetree, all files it 
needs are included in mplayer tree (and mplayer has it's own interface to it, 
it is not using libavifile).

I also had sig11 with binutils 2.10.something, upgrading to 2.11.92.0.7 fixed 
it for me.
