you're bad. CVS is a tool. it's something to store source files on a
directory, like a simple filesystem, but it has even history log, and old
versions can be get back. just like filesystem of VMS.

i don't see why CVS means beta or means memleaks or SIGSEGV.

for example. you can store shit in cvs. shit doesn't have memory leaks. :)
(shit even has no memory :)  have you ever looked a shit remembering you? :)
btw, if you're using cvs 1.10 or above, you can even store binary shit in
cvs! :) it's very cool, as there are many such shit out there!

or, the opposite side. you can store stable versions of programs in CVS
trunk. have you ever read CVS docs? cvs trunk is for stable working version.
cvs branches are for buggy development stuff...

we store stable versions in CVS. and release buggy betas for testing :)

btw, just grepped through CVS docs and manpage for SIGSEGV. no hits.
so, i'm pretty sure, CVS doesn't mean SIGSEGV :)
