This looks very promising!
I have encoded a short mpeg with it, and that looked great. 
Right now, I'm encoding a longer (two hours, more than 3 GB) mpeg to see
how it handles large files (yes, I did compile with --enable-largefiles,
and yes, so far it seems to be handling it OK). 

My biggest wish right now would be for some kind of a -o parameter that
would let you set the output filename, instead of having test.avi 
hardwired. (I can send you a patch, if you want ;-)

This looks much nicer tool for converting my mp1e captures than the 
mpeg2divx I was using before...

Right now, it seems to need 3 seconds to process one second of video on 
my Athlon 1.2GHz - that can probably be improved by tweaking the divx 
settings, and removing the status printout.
