[Mplayer-users] Problem playing DV

Hi !

I am trying to play a dv-file in mplayer, but

sr at gaijin:/scratch/dv > mplayer test.dv001.avi

mplayer cannot find a proper codec. The dv codec in codecs.conf
says it is for the sony dv format, my camcoder is panasonic, but
this should not make a difference, should it ?

Any ideas, anybody ?
