[Mplayer-users] Cannot play 768x576 sized mpgs

Hello *,

I noticed that "Mplayer" cannot play
mpgs that have the maximum PAL resolution
of 768x576 pixels.

I recorded two simple streams (25 fps,
1 second, no audio, 500 kbit/s) with
"mp1e" and "ffmpeg" -- both don't
get played at all.

I receive tons of the following error
messages:

I put the two streams at
http://www.mihu.de/mp1e.mpg
http://www.mihu.de/ffmpeg.mpg
just in case someone wants to try this out, too.

An old version of "mtv" plays both streams
very well however.

(I must admit that the "ffmpeg" stream has some
weird colorful artifacts in it -- this is not
the players fault!)

I don't think that this is an encoder issue, since
'ffmpeg' and 'mp1e' were developped completely
separated.

CU
Michael.
