[Mplayer-users] library trouble running mplayer

Yo: 

1/ 
little prob when compiling Mplayer:

strip mplayer
cp mplayer /usr/local/Mplayer-0.11pre24/bin
install -m 644 DOCS/mplayer.1 
/usr/local/Mplayer-0.11pre24/man/man1/mplayer.1

install: kan gewoon bestand 
`/usr/local/Mplayer-0.11pre24/man/man1/mplayer.1' niet aanmaken: Onbekend 
bestand of map

(can't make normal file blabla: unknown file or dir.)

make: *** [install] Fout 1

I solved it easely by crreating those dirs myself. Just a note, maybe 
it's the install script needing tweaking.

2/ 
Second point of failure:

trying to run /usr/local/Mplayer-0.11pre24/bin (where I  installed 
MPlayer)
./bin: error in loading shared libraries: /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1: 
undefined symbol: __glTLSCXIndex

I hate libraries :-(

I don't have the faintest idea what this is. Maybe this does help: I'm 
- running Linux-Mandrake 7.2, 
- libGLcore is on my machine, 
- I have an openGL compliant video card (nvidia riva tnt2 M64), 
- driver version is 0.9.6 (= latest), 
- NVdriver kernel module is loaded, 
- my box has an AMD Athlon K7 and 
- mobo with via chipset. (KX133 on an Epox 7KXA)
- kernel version is 2.4.2 (self-compiled). kernel config 
is on http://www.student.kuleuven.ac.be/~m9917684/kernelconfig-2.4.2
