[Mplayer-users] XV loaded, but not working w/ mplayer

im running Debian Woody with XFree86 version 4.02

when i do a mplayer -vo xv blah.avi I get this output:

Now, everything says that XV has loaded:

these 3 things indicate that the XV extensions have loaded, correct?
so why wont mpalyer use them?
i have a Voodoo3 3000 using the tdfx X server
