wanna make a tivo-like machine using linux on a dedicated pc.
i prefer to use a fast cpu instead of encoder boards, because
the good video boards are too expen$ive.
can a pc compress and store video with tv quality in realtime?
can i use mplayer for that?
any comments/suggestions/ideas are very welcome..
