[Mplayer-users] dvd: ac3 sigill bug

I just played around with mplayer to see if i can find out
what problem my system has with ac3 sound (I always got a
sigill even i dont have a any patches applied to the kernel).
After playing with the configure options I found that
dissabling the sse optimisation solves the problem. (don't ask
me why I didn't try this before). Can some give my a short
explanation how the ac3 system in mplayer works, so I can
nail down the problem ?

I also have an other problem which is machine dependend
(ie it works on my PII but not on my notebook with a PIII)

I got the following error msg:
DEMUXER: Too many (4096 in 8271968 bytes) video packets in the buffer!
(maybe you play a non-interleaved stream/file or video codec failed)
With the same effect as usual: sound stops playing.
As it is not an divx (but an dvd or the ripped mpeg file)
-ni does not work. Any hints how i can solve this ?

POINTER: A sort of dog which always seems to know which way the data went.
