Finally, it did crash on a linux box at home, when I was logged in on a
gnome desktop.

The problem is with the way the DLLs implements alloca() and try to extend
the stack (?);  there was a subroutine named "This_Is_Dirty_Hack()" that
worked around this problem and which was disabled by my win32 __stdcall
prototype patch.

The problem should be fixed no in the current CVS.  Is the Ann Lee .asf
playback working for you, now?
