it IS playable with avifile. sorry i forgot to mention in the original post.
wouldn't have posted if it wasn't anyway :)
haven't tried it in windoze though, the only windoze i have available is
with vmware (thus everything multimedia-related is either too old or missing
at all - no reason to update vmwarized multimedia sw :)
