Hello Henning,

I own a G450 dualhead w/ 32Mb DDR-Ram and unfortunately I never got
tv-out working with the tools from "mplayer".

It seems that G400 and G450 differ a lot regarding
the dualhead stuff. 8-/

At the moment you can use the second head as a separate framebuffer
(and redirect "mplayer" output to that head) or use it with
X either as a separate screen or with the so-called xinerama
extension, e.g. you have one big desktop that spans the two
heads.

There is no tv-out support with Matrox' X-Server at the moment.
Only the G400 is supported. I really hope that they add G450
support soon.

I recommend a G450 with 32Mb, 16Mb is too small if you want a dualhead
configuration under X with high resolutions. SDR or DDR memory does
not matter in my eyes.

Of course you need a dualhead G450, e.g. a G450 with two output
connectors. For tv-output you need an adaptor to connect to the
second output -- if you are familiar
with a soldering iron, you can build your on. On Matrox' website
you will find a detailed pin description.

But you are probably better off with a G400 with dualhead support.
Although you cannot buy this card anymore, I have seen several
cards at www.ebay.de for example.
