I recently got mplayer working on my own machine (works great, I'v
tried half a dozen players and this is the first that works) and have
been trying to install it (remotely unfortunatly) for a friend. I'v
done everything the same as far as I can tell, but obviously something
has gone wrong.
Below I have attached the output from mplayer -vo sdl -ao sdl <file>.
The system is Debian Woody on a PII based system (no MMX). My own
system is Debian Unstable on a K7. Both have SDL 1.2, but could some
other version difference be the source of my problem?
On my own system I can also play movies from console with -vo fbdev,
tho audio won't work. This gives a different set of errors on my
friends machine, but these seem the most helpful.
The Audio: no sound line made me curious so we ran with -ao null, but
it didn't seem to help any.
Any suggestions are welcome, thanks!
-Dan
