As another individual has noted, if you have AVI/ASF (i.e., video
for Windows) movies, they probably use Win32-only binary codecs. You won't
be able to play those movies under Linux/PPC.
However, I have compiled and tested some of MPlayer's
functionality on my Linux/PPC machine, so I'm confident that the open
source components will work fine (and I know for a fact that my own
decoders and file demuxers are okay on that platform). So if you have a
lot of FLI files or AVIs that use MS Video-1, you're all set...:)
