Are you 100% sure they are used ?

 As your previous bugreport contains:

  Program received signal SIGBUS, Bus error.

  (gdb) bt

Check with ldd which libraries are linked against your mplayer.

Current SDL autodetections looks first for sdl-config then sdl11-config
in your PATH _unless_ you use --with-sdl-config=/path/to/mysdl-config
with configure.
