When there is a kernel panic during the compilation of mplayer, at least
this is not a mplayer problem but a kernel problem.
The other thing may be related.
If it's reproducable the gcc and kernel people would like to hear about
this (prepare for some debugging).
Reading and following bugreport may help since this is obviously nothing
that someone recognises and so some info about the problem is needed.
