[MPlayer-users] DVD problems

Hi,

This is concerning my old post about the slow replay of "The Matrix". The
very same binary with the very same libraries plays "Baraka" correctly.

There's one big difference between these two DVD-s: Baraka is unencrypted,
thus libdvdcss is not involved. And guess what, this is what causes the
slowdown in case of "The Matrix"! So, in order to save other people
some frustrating moments, please add the following info to the FAQ

The November 14, 2001 version of libdvdcss-1.0.0 might cause problems with
mplayer.

I'm still not sure where the problem lies, since ogle works perfectly with
this same library, so it's not necessarily broken. Could you guys send
success/failure reports on other versions of libdvdcss? I guess, it could
help to compare them.

Perhaps, it's just my framebuffer device, but the fbdev driver doesn't give
a shit about the aspect ratio or the display size. It displays everything
pixel-for pixel. Other drivers that work with my S3 Savage (especially xv)
make a perfect job.
