[Mplayer-users] Clipping

Hi,
this time I really look in the docs and it wasn't there, archive is still down.

Since you are so busy working on libvo2, have you thought about
a clipping feature?

E.g. on the wide-screen monitor, some movies are not completely scaled
horizontally to fullscreen, because black bars on top/bottom were encoded
(stupid, of course, but common). On non-widescreen-monitors,
it would be interesting to cutpixels left and right (like it's done
in TV for cinemascope movie), to scale the rest larger.

Combining both with hardware-scaling and making it interactive, you could
implement some kind of zooming feature!

I'm not talking about change of decoding itself, for me (unknowing user) it
sounds more like only changing pointers and dimensions/stride passed to output.

Wouldn't a DVD-zoom be cool? I mean, it cost _thousands_ of (real) bucks,
if you want a DVD-player with that feature :-)
