really strange. float value is corrupted. seems to be mmx problem...

do you have 2.2.x or 2.4.x kernel?
you should use 2.4.x for such new cpus like p3/p4/k7.

you should recompile mplayer with -g switch, to see where is it crashing.

how the crash looks like if you have only audio enabled?
