here is the same, but _after_ the commit
before, 'file' recognizes it as utf-8
now i'll retry the commit with the utf-8 file i saved.....
pls tell me if then it is utf'd...
sorry for the annoyance, but anyway this problem must be solved, sigh

it_IT.UTF-8 at euro

€ echo $LC_ALL
it_IT.UTF-8 at euro

€ cat /etc/default/locale 
LANG=it_IT.UTF-8
