it's there as asf demuxer needs the same structs.

dunno...
the TODO is quite long, ther are several interesting entries for you:

demuxer layer:
- layer 1/2 support into mp3_hdr.[ch]
- mpeg4-es and h264 support into mpg demuxer
- port other demuxers from mplayer 0_90/main

stream layer:
- add metadata support, export tracklist
- realmedia rtsp:// support
- cddb:// ???

I sugges this, it's a big project but is made for you: :)))
- add metadata support, export tracklist

ie design the way how stream plugins may export metadata, like artist/title
(both global and per-track, like g2's demuxer's metadata stuff) and
tracklist/track structure (including dvd titles/chapters/angle slist, cdda
tracks, cddb info and so on) and (your favourite one:) playlists/redirectors.
i guess the design should be done first and discussed here, before you hack
all the modules :)

i'm not sure but maybe even dvd navigation should be handled here?
(as it's really a stream and not a demuxer, but dunno)

If you don't like this, i understand :)
You can still go for demuxers or port vo drivers.
Or go and design the subtitles layer in demuxer :) (but imho it's better if done by me)
