sure.
i'll (maybe with help of Rich) develop it, later.
g2 libs are far from being complete, we still have a lot of things to do.

Anyone may write guis for it (it's the idea behind G2's modular,
UI-independnet design), but for mencoder, i think a good commandline
syntax is required, and the already existant mencoder frontends will
be updated to support it. Generating scripts/commandlines for commandline
tool has the advantage, that you can run the long encoding process 
remote on X-less servers or in the background...
