[MPlayer-dvb] How to view DVB subtitles.

It seems it is a big task!

I can see some code in demux_ts.c to handle subtitles: is it an
attempt? does it need some more work? Is it worth trying to understand
it, or is it just to be rewritten from scratch?

BTW: i've tried debugging to get familiar wiht the code and I have
problems compiling. The same reported error is reported here

but the solution (to use -fomit-frame-pointer) makes debugging very hard.
What is the configuration used by developers to debug mplayer?
