I tried it: it works as expected when muxed to mpeg (obviously since it 
only 90 seconds long,
you can only seek with the left and right arrow keys in 10 seconds 
increments), both
with the old and the new muxer.
When muxed to avi I could seek using -forceidx, and yes, it sucks.
