[Mplayer-dvb] DivX chunked while playback

Hi,

I'm having a hard time reading MPEG4. How I do it :

Encoder Divx ;-) 5.0.2
Format : 720 x 576
Keyframe every : 300 frames
Sound : MP3 56kb/s

mplayer -vo mpegpes -ao mpegpes -vop lavc video.avi

The video reads kind of slow motion, the sound it chunked up and all...

When I encode with no audio, it's even worse. The video playbacks really 
ugly. It just kinda freezes, and unfreeze until the next frame.

I have figured out, that I have to encode with about "Keyframe every : 5 
frames" intervale. That makes the video read pretty smooth. With or 
without sound.

what are the enoding options I have to know about ? To do, not do ?
