[Mplayer-dvb] screen stays black with osd enabled

Hi list,
i could not get rid of a problem when playing vob-files thru a DVB.
The tv-screen stays black when playing a with osd.It plays fine when i
drop the -vop expand. Trying a newer version (pre8) gives me a crash
("interupted by signal 11 in module "decode_video") every time i start
with "expand".
Any help would be apreciated.
