[Mplayer-dvb] DVB audio & onscreen display

hi all,

this is my first post to the list.
I'm a new mplayer over DVB user. I've been using vdr for quite some time now and i know its features/limitations pretty well so what i've been looking for here is to play a VCD (NTSC) on screen and get the audio thru the DVB-s Card.
I can play the VCD thru DVB with mpegpes for -ao -vo -vc and it works just fine but then i can't grab onscreen display with xawtv for example...
so is there a way to do that ?
