[Mplayer-dvb] Best quality settings - DVD>Divx for DVB

Hello,

1) What settings are you using to achieve best quality of
DVD > Divx conversion.
( Which parameters have the most impact on quality )

2) Which codec should I use to achieve best quality. ( lavc or divx4 )

3) I played around with ffmpeg (mpeg4):

Pass 1:
mencoder -i vts_01_1.vob -nosound -ovc lavc
-lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1500:vhq:vpass=1:vqmin=1:vqmax=15
-vop scale=352:576 -sws 2 -o /dev/null 

Pass 2:
mencoder -i vts_01_1.vob -oac copy -ovc lavc
-lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1500:vhq:vpass=2:vqmin=1:vqmax=15
-vop scale=352:576 -sws 2 -o test.avi

> I use -oac copy because I want to keep AC3
> With these setting I can playback the avi over DVB on my Pentium III 500
   and the CPU usage keeps below 70%.

What are your experiences ?
