[Mplayer-dvb] video output on tv-out of videocard

hi all!

bec i have only a very weak pc (500mhz) and would like to watch
divx with mplayer/vdr i thought if it was possible to use a
videocard with s-video out and connect it to the tv.

so far nothing new. BUT: this pc is a vdr only machine, and runs
in "console mode". so no x-window running. do you know if it is
possible to use the s-video output to pipe vdr/mplayer data into
it?

ANY HELP really appriciated !!
