Wow! Thanks for all the great information.
It would be really nice if all your answers were conserved for future
queries. I know. There is the archive. But what I mean is there should
be a glossary page in the docs where everybody could look up
specialised words like these.
The messages being limited to 80 caracters, the translations have to
be concise while trying to be "lossless" (as in image compression 
algorithms).
A general reference to the doc would allow us to use those
abreviations the experts need while ensuring that the ordinary user
would not be lost at sea (up s creek without a paddle).
