The current information is correct as far as DivX is concerned. Here
is what the expert I contacted had to say :-):
"The DivX HD profile only supports up to 1280x720 30fps content.
Actual HD stuff is either 1280x720 or 1920x1080 and I'm not sure about
frame rates. The problem with 1920x1080 is that the height is not mod
16, and it's a huge resolution. :) So 1280x720 is ample for the
moment, until we have monster PCs. :D But yes, that is confirmed for
DivX profiles. "
