...weirdly enough I don't know about that. On the one hand, I would
expect it to not be handled automatically (since TTBOMK cvs doesn't
store any of its meta-information about a file in that file itself), but
on the other hand, I don't recall having ever seen a commit which
updated that number - so if it *is* up to date, then perhaps it *does*
get updated automatically.

And yes, the number is currently up-to-date even for the very most
recent commit, which definitely did not include an explicit change to
that line - so presumably it is updated automatically. I'd like to know
*why*, though...

IMO this swap would be better done on the line above - i.e. "x or z" 
instead of "z or x"; saying "plus or minus" is standard phrasing, and 
"minus or plus" will seem strange to many people.
