I've spent a lot of my personal time a to improve xvid section lately,
so I'd appreciate you'd double check with CVS before sending such a
message.

The manpage doesn't say such thing.
Though it does read:
NOTE: Use -ovc help to get a list of available video codecs, which
output is correct, at least with my cvs version.
