Hmm, is this warning necessary?  I wouldn't have thought there is danger of
confusing them..

Don't you mean "distributed to"?  The question is: Is the overflow given to
each new frame or distributed afresh each time there is a new frame.  In the
former case I would suggest "overflow is given to each frame", in the latter
case "overflow is distributed every time there is a new frame".
