Since people have been asking about this over and over again,
here comes a patch for faq.xml:

MPlayer RPMs maintainer: http://greysector.rangers.eu.org/mplayer/
"I am Grey. I stand between the candle and the star. We are Grey.
We stand between the darkness ... and the light."

+How do I encode only sound from a music video?

+It's not possible directly, but you can try this:
+<screen>
+ mencoder -ovc frameno -oac mp3lame -lameopts your_opts -o music.avi dvd://1
+ mplayer -dumpaudio -dumpfile music.mp3 music.avi
+ rm music.avi
+</screen>
+or, since you already have <application>LAME</application>, this:
+<screen>
+ mkfifo encode
+ mplayer -oac pcm -aofile encode dvd://1 &
+ lame your_opts encode music.mp3
+ rm encode
+</screen>
+The latter allows you to use any encoder, not only <application>LAME</application>.
