[MPlayer-dev-eng] MPL, MPL2 and MPsub subtitles

I need some help from an old hand here.

The shared-mime-info database refers to the MPL2 subtitles as "MPlayer2
subtitles". This seems wrong to me.

Question 1: MPL2 subtitles are based on MPL subtitles, but do MPL subtitles
have anything to do with MPlayer? I have not found any information about MPL
subtitles.

Furthermore, the shared-mime-info database refers to MPsub subtitles as
"MPSub subtitles". In my opinion, it should be called "MPlayer subtitles"
instead.

As soon as I have more historical information, I will create merge requests
to correct this in shared-mime-info.

Question 2: Was the .mpsub extension for MPlayer subtitles chosen for the
-dumpmpsub option just because .sub was already assigned for MicroDVD? FFmpeg
only lists "sub" as .extensions for MPlayer subtitles.

P.S. If anyone has more information about MPL subtitles (not MPL2 or MPL3),
     or knows how MPL2 differs from MPL, please let me know.
