This breaks ./configure --enable-gui --disable-ffmpeg_a:

Checking for assembler (cc ) ... failed (Upgrade binutils to 2.16.92 or use --disable-ssse3 etc.)

Error: obsolete binutils version

My binutils are 2.29.1, cc is gcc 4.9.3.
