Is it the drivers or changing them?

Please start with your usual drivers. Then change both video and audio while
playing and start playing a new video. Now the new video does not play.

Quit the GUI and play a video with the changed drivers (which by now should
be saved in the gui.conf preferences file and be selected automatically).

Does the video play?

Now - while the video plays or not - call preferences, change back both
drivers to your usual ones and start playing a new video.

Does the video play?
