Does it without the patch?

At the moment I'm interested in the question whether playback has to be
stopped in the Win32 preferences dialog. (I see no reason, and the X11/GTK
GUI runs fine without it.) Because...if playback has to be stopped, the
message box is pointless.

If there's something wrong with changing both audio and video drivers, let's
figure out afterwards.
