If it helps, mplayer2 has removed this code 2 years ago, because it
broke more than it fixed. There's also another unfixed issue in
MPlayer/mplayer2 that breaks -geometry. Nicolas George tried to fix it
a while ago, but the patch didn't make it. I've fixed this probably in
my own fork (mpv), but I can't be sure with X being X. I think there's
lots of potential getting things "right" and working.
