  first of all thank you for your hard work!

  I didn't find anything wrong with your patch, but I am not familiar
with ad mpg123 nor mp3lib and did only quickly scan over your patch.  
I have it applied in my local mplayer but I did not get to testing yet.
Only did compiling and some normal usage where my ear couldn't detect
anything wrong.

  Sorry, to have you waiting. While very valuable it is just a bit
overwhelming. Maybe Ivan could comment on your latest patch and how
it works out for him.

  BTW I am too in favor of removing mp3lib if this gets tested by a 
broader audience (is in MPlayer SVN for a while) and no more problems
occur.
