Apologies for butting in, but by chance I just noticed an issue with ass 
subs.

It occurs before and after this fix.

I don't usually use/test subs so have no idea when this started, apart 
from it didn't happen long ago when I first saw this sample which was 
posted by someone on users as an example of 10 bit colour.

With current mplayer there is extra text displayed which shouldn't be.
