[MPlayer-dev-eng] getting frame rate

Hi!

I developed a couple of audio and video plugins (af_.., vf_..) for
monitoring purposes and everything is working fine, but currently the
plugins are sample and frame based and I would like to configure them based
on time intervals. For example I would like to set to generate an alert when
the sound is below a specific threshold for a x seconds or the video freezed
for more than y second.

How can I retrieve the video frame-rate and audio sample-rate for a stream?
Where does mplayer store this info?
