It is still on my TODO list to track down those performance
inconsistencies / the penalty when using libmpg123 from MPlayer,
specifically making it slower than built-in mp3lib for 3DNow(Ext).

I understood that the possibility of performance regression has to be
put out of the way before dropping mp3lib. Help appreciated, as I
should really, really spend my time on RL matters:-/
